UAS Resolution of No Confidence in Executive Leadership Team

Be it resolved, that:

1. The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Academic Senate has lost confidence in the ability of its Executive Leadership Team – Acting President/Provost Kimo Ah Yun and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Joel Pogodzinski – to lead ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ in a way that enables faculty, staff, and administrators to fulfill the university’s mission.

2. The University Academic Senate will inform the Board of Trustees of the vote and will provide them with a summary of the discussion at the Senate meeting on Monday, November 18.

Context:

1. Overwhelming and unprecedented concerns raised by faculty across Colleges – including in some cases letters signed by entire departments – about the disastrous impact of decisions both made and proposed by the executive leadership team on the future of research and teaching at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.
2. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s Mission Statement.
