Research Interests

Dr. Garcia's program of research centers on advancing health and educational equity through the examination of social, cultural, and environmental influences on health behaviors, student success, and workforce diversity in nursing. Using qualitative inquiry and community-engaged approaches, she examines the lived experiences of underrepresented populations to identify strategies that improve health outcomes, educational access, belonging, retention, and success.
