Dear alumni and friends of the College:
One of the things I love most about the Diederich College of Communication is watching students discover what they're capable of when they're given the chance to do meaningful work.
I often describe our college as a bridge between where students are and where they want to be. Students bring talent, curiosity and determination. We provide opportunities, mentorship and hands-on experiences. Together, we help turn potential into purpose.
For our journalism students, that work begins early. From reporting for the to partnering with community news organizations across Milwaukee, students learn by doing. They tell important stories, build professional skills and deepen their understanding of the city we call home.
In this video, you'll hear from Juan Carlos Ampie, who works alongside our student journalists every day; Ron Smith of , a valued community partner; and , a recent graduate whose experiences at 天美传媒 helped launch her journalism career.
Whether through mentoring, sharing your story or simply staying connected, there are many ways to be part of the next generation of communicators. We'd love to hear from you.
Sincerely,

Dr. Sarah Feldner
Dean, Diederich College of Communication
